Fabulous One-of-a-Kind Frank Hess For Miriam Haskell Glass Brooch (A9765)
This is a rare survivor from the 1930s.
It is unsigned, as most of the pieces of the early years all are.
Designed by Frank Hess for Miriam Haskell, he was the main designer for Haskell at this time.
Cannot find another like this; it has been verified, and it has all the workmanship and components of a Hess piece.
Underneath has the metal caging with holes for the wiring, brass plate cover with the tabs holding in place over the cage area, long pin( which is a little bent in spots).
Appear to be little black glass rondels, probably Czech, which are wired on.
Beautiful molded glass. Has 5 large (1.5") glass or porcelain bright blue detailed leaves.
The whole piece is 2.5" long by 2" wide.
The color combo is fabulous; this can be worn either way, with the leaves up or down. This is a must for the true Haskell collector.
