ULTRA RARE NOS HOUSE OF BALMAIN 1950s FRENCH GLASS FLOWER BROOCH – VERIFIED BY THE MET MUSEUM

A truly exceptional and collectible piece: an original 1950s layered glass flower brooch by the House of Balmain, made in France and sold at Saks Fifth Avenue. This brooch is a rare New Old Stock (NOS) item, verified by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which owns a similar piece (photographed on their site in a different colorway, gifted to their collection in 1974).

Design & Materials:
Layered glass petals adorned with sparkling rhinestones at each tip
Center and leaf elements made from glass pearls
Clear rhinestones accent the stem
Made of brass, signed FRANCE, and features an authentic trombone clasp

Condition:
Never worn—retains its original Saks Fifth Avenue tag (tag shows wear consistent with age)
Some darkening to the brass consistent with age
Three glass petals are missing—visible from the back (please see photos)
